October half term

Imagine and play with us every day during the Wakefield school holidays!

With an array of activities including drop-in workshops, Art Pods and activity kits – it’s the perfect opportunity to get creative as a family.

Bring a picnic to enjoy on our garden or indoor picnic area, or visit our café to enjoy lunch, cake and ice cream.

The Hepworth Wakefield is accessible with baby changing facilities and a Changing Places toilet as well as a space to leave buggies and pushchairs.

We can’t wait to welcome you to the gallery this October half term.

Family Workshop: Autumn Drawing

The Hepworth Wakefield Garden is a place for nature, people and art. Discover the birds, plants and trees that live in our garden with creative looking and drawing activities.

Move through the Clore learning studio to create a ‘garden of drawings’ featuring birds, plants and trees. Join in large drawing activities and try out new materials and techniques or make your own Summer-themed drawings to take home.

Family Workshop: Stringed Sculpture

FREE with an exhibition ticket

Join us to celebrate the arrival of Barbara Hepworth’s Sculpture with Colour (Oval Form) Pale Blue and Red at The Hepworth Wakefield. This fun workshop is perfect for families to explore, experiment and make together.

Working with card, reflective paper and string, you will make your own three dimensional art work taking inspiration from Hepworth’s sculpture.

Visit the galleries with your family and join us at the Art Pod to make your own artwork inspired by what you see.

At the Art Pod you will be greeted by a member of our learning team who will offer a choice of creative activities linked to our exhibitions. Explore artworks together and return to the Art Pod to make, draw and create.
