Wakefield: A Contemporary Collection

Wakefield Art Gallery opened in 1932 housing a collection established with the aim ‘to keep in touch with modern art, in its relations to modern life’. Since opening in 2011, The Hepworth Wakefield has maintained this tradition of supporting artists. The gallery continues to grow the collection and encourage emerging and established talent, building on Hepworth's legacy of artistic ambition and inspiration in Wakefield.
