Look out for our Explore & Draw stations in the galleries. Borrow looking tools, handling objects and drawing materials to explore the galleries and create artworks.
We have up to three stations in the galleries for you to use and explore. Each station links to our temporary exhibitions or collection displays and contains activities, objects and books related to the artworks. Enjoy drawing in the galleries, look in new ways at the artworks, feel objects and materials connected to exhibitions, or sit and read together.
The stations are design to be suitable for all ages, and are available every day.
Tell us what you think! Each station has a notebook for you to leave comments and drawings. Let us know if you’ve enjoyed your visit or what you would like to see in the future:
“What an amazing resource to help make the art and sculptures accessible for children. My 2 year old loved the magnifying glasses, the clipboards and wooden materials.”
“I like how this place has lots of places to stop and try to create your own art” Edie, aged 9
“I think Barbara Hepworth has created wonderful pieces of art. She has inspired me to be an artist that never gives up.” Alex, age 10
“I think it’s a great way to interact and to express your creative side. It’s nice to sit down as a 22 year old and be childlike again.”
“Best art gallery ever! Lots of ways to interact and learn!”
