Book exhibition ticket(s)Visit the galleries with your family and join us at the Art Pod to make your own artwork inspired by what you see.
At the Art Pod you will be greeted by a member of our learning team who will offer a choice of creative activities linked to our exhibitions. Explore artworks together and return to the Art Pod to make, draw and create.
We have two Art Pods located in different parts of the galleries. Please ask the visitor team to direct you to their locations:
- Barbara Hepworth’s sculptures and works from Wakefield’s Art Collection
- Helen Chadwick: Life Pleasures
*Please note, Helen Chadwick explored the human body using unusual materials in surprising ways. Her work encourages us to think about how we feel and how we experience the world. Some of the art in this exhibition includes nudity or references difficult topics, and some works include animal furs. It may lead to big questions or conversations.
To help you enjoy your visit, we have developed family activities focussed on artworks that connect with children’s own experiences or explore interesting making techniques and materials.
Children must be accompanied at all times.
Participation at Art Pod is on a first-come, first-served basis and families may have to wait to take part at busy times. Art Pod closes for lunch between 1pm and 1.30pm.
Exhibition entry is £13 / £11 / FREE for Members, Wakefield district residents and under 18s.
