You Choose! Surreal Landscapes Family Project

Sat 5 & 12 Oct, 11.30am - 1pm, FREE

Suitable for families with children aged 4–12.

Would your family like to us help us create activities and resources for other families to enjoy in the galleries this autumn?

During the summer holidays families chose artworks for a special space in our next exhibition  Forbidden Territories: 100 Years of Surreal Landscapes. This exhibition highlights curious and fantastical landscape paintings, prints, drawings and sculptures from Wakefield’s art collection .

In the next phase of this project we invite you to be the first to try out new activities for the Autumn family programme. During these workshops you will discover artworks in the galleries, play, draw, and make your own creations in the learning studios.

This project is for families with children aged 4 to 12 years old. Babies and younger siblings are welcome too. Children must not be left unaccompanied.

All sessions are FREE.

Families will receive free car parking or have public transport costs reimbursed.

As a thank you for taking part in the project, families will receive a children’s book on surrealism at the final session.

If you wish to visit the gallery spaces before or after the project sessions, please collect a ticket from the welcome desk. Entry to the galleries is FREE for Wakefield residents, members, carers and under 18s. Non-Wakefield families will receive complimentary exhibition tickets for the same day they attend project sessions.

If you have any questions please contact us by email at  learning@hepworthwakefield.org or call 01924 247398.
