Warm space

Open Tue - Sun, 10am - 4pm, until 31 March 2024*

The Hepworth Wakefield invites our local community to share our warm space this winter

The Hepworth Wakefield invites our local community to share our warm space this winter.

You are welcome to sit, read, play, draw and stay as long as you wish. You will find books, newspapers, magazines, comfortable seating, drawing materials and play activities – all for free.

Please help yourself to a hot drink and biscuits. Packed lunches can be eaten here and you can charge your mobile phone or laptop too.

Our warm space is free to access with no obligation to visit the galleries.

If you live in the Wakefield District, entry to our exhibitions is free.

If you are visiting with a family (or even if you’re not) pick up an explore and draw kit from the welcome desk and look out for explore & draw stations in the galleries. There are lots of fun creative activities to explore while you are here.

We also have lots of free, family activities on weekends and during Wakefield school holidays. Ask our welcome team for details when you arrive.

*On Friday 16th February we are welcoming families from refugee communities for a creative afternoon at The Hepworth Wakefield. The warm space will be closed on this day from 1pm for these families to use as a quite space for baby feeding and play.
