15th Anniversary Charity Auction
20 Aug 2026
2026 is a significant year for The Hepworth Wakefield as it marks its 15th anniversary. On this landmark year, we are holding a charity auction that will take place at our celebration gala, featuring artworks and experiences donated by outstanding artists and creative practitioners who have played an important role in our journey so far.
The auction includes art works by: Andrew Cranston; Sir David Chipperfield; Edmund de Waal; Ida Ekblad; Jadé Fadojutimi; Louise Giovanelli; Bridget Riley; and Caroline Walker. As well as exclusive experiences from Tom Stuart-Smith and Aaron Angell.
All profits made from the sale of these works will make a significant difference to our future, supporting us as a charity and helping protect all that has been achieved so far.
A moment to reflect
Our 15th anniversary year provides a moment to reflect on all that has been achieved since we opened: from working with artists on their first major solo exhibitions to uncovering untold stories, championing overlooked artists and growing Wakefield’s art collection.
We have made a significant impact on the creative and cultural landscape of West Yorkshire and across the UK while developing international partnerships that allow our exhibitions and Barbara Hepworth’s legacy to be experienced around the world.
We have welcomed and inspired hundreds of thousands of children and families through our learning programmes, nurturing the artists and museum-goers of the future. Through our community engagement work, we break down barriers to world-class art for the widest possible audiences.
As we look ahead to the next 15 years, we want to continue to grow and ambitiously programme so that many more visitors can meaningfully engage with, be inspired by, and find solace in our art, the artists we work with and our garden.
To do so, we must continue to seek support from those who share our passion.
