Borrow our Sensory Resource to support SEND students during a teacher-led visit to The Hepworth Wakefield.
The resource offers playful tools and tactile activities to create inclusive, multi-sensory experiences in the galleries and support individual needs.
It is bespoke to The Hepworth Wakefield and reflects the artworks that you will see on your visit.
Accompanying the kit are open-ended ideas about how to use the resource which you can use as a starting point to adapt to your students’ interests, abilities and sensory needs.

x10 individual student bags with soft tactile snakes, a fabric ‘Hepworth’ shape and a sensory scarf
A teacher kit which includes:
- Handling objects – natural objects and tactile pattern stones
- Fidget objects – wooden and concentric circle fidgets and squeeze objects
- Looking tools – colour paddles and acrylic ‘Hepworth’ shapes
- Mark making tools – variety of pencils with clipboards and paper; tactile fabric drawing; shape dice game
- Books and visual supports, including widgets for The Hepworth Wakefield
- Soft floor mat
