Join artist Harriet Fletcher for an inspiring CPD session exploring creative approaches to clay in the classroom and gain practical ideas to take back to school.
Inspired by the organic forms and repeat patterns in our exhibition Playing with Fire: Edmund de Waal and Axel Salto, this session offers the opportunity to play and experiment with a range of creative processes and clay techniques.
During the session Harriet will guide you through a series of playful activities in our galleries and studios that explore texture, pattern and form. There will also be a focus on using affordable tools to create texture and surface pattern.
Throughout, there will be the opportunity to explore ways of embracing creative risk, and strategies to encourage experimentation, build student confidence and support students who may fear the idea of failure.
This session is suitable for primary and secondary teachers, school staff and art educators.
All materials and equipment will be provided.
Refreshments and registration is available from 3.45pm for a 4pm start.
Free parking is available – on arrival please share your car registration at the Welcome Desk.
