Join us for a sensory play workshop exploring the early designs for a new playground at The Hepworth Wakefield.
Work with artist John Mayson and playground architects to test ideas for our new playground, opening in summer 20206, through sensory experiences and tactile play.
Maximum family group size is 3 children and 2 adults. Smaller family groups very welcome.
Places are limited and booking is essential. Book online here.
A quiet space with sensory activities will be available anyone who wants to arrive early with their packed lunch or take a break during the session.

Access information
The session will take place in our Sunken Garden opposite the front doors to the gallery, with a short activity in Gallery 5. A wet weather contingency will be in our Auditorium space. All are wheelchair accessible.
Accessible parking is available on Gallery Walk next to the gallery (Sat Nav: WF1 5AW) and in the car park on Thornes Lane (Sat Nav: WF1 5QJ).
A quiet space will be available before and throughout the session. Ear defenders are available at our Welcome Desk.
A Changing Places toilet is located within the Clore Learning Studios on the ground floor. The facility has a height adjustable adult sized changing bench, a tracking hoist system and adequate space in the changing area for the person with additional needs and up to two carers.
