For Light Up Wakefield, The Hepworth Wakefield will present Nectary – six huge glowing flowers handcrafted from recycled materials that invite visitors to experience them from the viewpoint of a pollinating insect.
Created by artist Alison Smith and scientist Dr. Chris Hassall, this light and sound installation in The Hepworth Wakefield’s sunken garden explores what we can gain from listening to nature, and the vital role pollinating insects play in our survival.
This year’s Light Up Wakefield features a spectacular trail of installations across the city centre and beyond. Find out more on the Experience Wakefield website.
This event is funded with a Culture Grant by Wakefield Council.
