Introduction to Hand Built Ceramics

Saturday 11 May, 10am - 4pm

Join ceramicist Meghan Downs as she guides you through a range of hand-building techniques to produce your own ceramic sculpture in response to our exhibition Magdalene Odundo: The Journey of Things, using the array of ceramic objects on display as inspiration.

Downs will demonstrate techniques including; slab-building, using plaster moulds to form shapes, coiling and making pinch-pots, which you can combine to build a ceramic sculptural piece. The piece will be bisque fired and returned to you to decorate.
