Explore the potential of cutting, folding and construction techniques with paper to create your own unique sculptural forms with paper artist Andy Singleton.
With demonstrations and one-to-one help from the artist, learn the basic techniques of paper manipulation, pattern cutting, wet folding, pleating and modular form-making.
Using sculptures by Barbara Hepworth as inspiration, you will create your own paper works to take home or give as a gift. This workshop is suitable for beginners and those with prior experience.
About the tutor
Andy Singleton is a paper artist and illustrator based in Wakefield. He studied Animation with Illustration at Manchester Metropolitan University. His work is an exploration of the natural and manmade world through intricate paper cuttings, paper sculpture, hand drawn illustrations and large scale installations
Andy has produced work for variety of clients, including: Crafts Council, Penhaligon’s, Burberry, Ted Baker, Harrods, Liberty London, Hermés, Kensington Palace, Playstation, Manchester Art Gallery, The Hepworth Wakefield and The Beautiful Meme.
