Drawing Sculpture

1hr 50min artist-led workshop for KS1 – KS5

Session Overview

Pupil’s will practice observational drawing in our galleries surrounded by and responding to Hepworth’s stunning sculpture.

They will explore drawing skills including the use of line, tone and texture.

In the learning studios, students will develop these skills further using a range of exciting drawing media.

Take back to school

Students will each create a series of drawings including collaborative large-scale and smaller individual works.

  • Learn about great artist Barbara Hepworth and understand the historical and cultural development of her art form.

  • Develop new specialist vocabulary and visual literacy in response to the artworks.
  • Use discussion in order to learn; elaborating and explaining clearly their understanding and ideas about the artworks and their own creative work.
