The Love & Hope Boat

The Love and Hope Boat is inspired by the boat held aloft in the hand of the Amazonian Caiman God, symbolising the touching love story of Jason Wilsher-Mills’ parents. A retired boat from Pugneys Country Park has been upcycled for the project. Fondly dubbed ‘HMS Pugness’ by the team at Pugneys, the boat offers a chance for people to contribute artwork, inspired by love and hope, as it sets sail across the district.
River of Belonging Performance
6pm – 7pm
Local community groups Star Bereavement and CoActive are working together to create a very special performance which anyone of any physical ability can learn and join in with.
About the Wakefield Sculpture Trail
The Wakefield Sculpture Trail is an exciting series of sculptures across the city centre. The sculptures have been created by artists Annie Morris, Andy Holden, Halima Cassell, Jason Wilsher-Mills and Ro Robertson and are here for everyone to enjoy.
Over the summer, explore the sculptures and take part in creative activities with a celebration event on Saturday 16 September to welcome the sculptures to their new home of Wakefield.
All events are FREE and suitable for all ages and abilities.
