Jeremy James has made work as a professional artist for over 30 years. Already well known for his sculptures, Jeremy has more recently rediscovered his love of printmaking and now makes distinctive original lino prints from his Derbyshire studio. His work is held in numerous public and private collections throughout the world.
James was awarded The Hepworth Wakefield Print Fair Prize 2021. The award was developed to further our ongoing work of recognising and supporting artists at all stages of their careers. The Prize was chosen by a panel from The Hepworth Wakefield, including Simon Wallis, Director, together with Gyr King, CEO of King & McGaw.

‘It is enormously exciting and a great honour to have been awarded The Hepworth Wakefield Print Fair Prize, 2021. Making prints on my own, from my studio in Derbyshire, particularly during this last very difficult year, has been a solitary experience. It is extremely encouraging to have this recognition that others think what I do, might be worth looking at. I am a frequent visitor to The Hepworth, enjoying the exciting visual work shown there in a beautiful space.’ Jeremy James
