Experiment with colour and texture to create your own abstract composition inspired by the colourful paintings in our Alan Davie & David Hockney Early Works exhibition.
When you arrive please collect an activity kit from the Learning Studios. These kits contain looking, drawing and making activities to do with your family while you visit the galleries. The kits help you gather ideas for your own creations.
In the Learning Studios play with composition and try out layering, paint techniques and collage to make your own abstract artwork to take home.
This workshop is suitable for children aged 2 – 12, who must be accompanied by an adult.
You will be asked to collect an activity kit from the Learning Studios and go up to the gallery before starting the activity.
This workshop will be closed over lunch from 12.30 – 1pm. Last admittance to the activity will be at 3.30pm.
