Women’s Work (2025, 60 mins) is a new documentary directed by Nicola Black, about internationally acclaimed artist Caroline Walker.

Walker’s work explores the diverse social, economic and cultural experiences of women living in contemporary society. From female tailors to midwives, from chambermaids to migrant workers, Walker paints the unseen, often underpaid work of women everywhere.

The hour-long film follows Walker over the past 5 years, creating work around themes of childcare and nurture in relation to women’s work, subjects that are central to her current exhibition at The Hepworth Wakefield, Caroline Walker: Mothering.

This screening is followed by a Q&A with artist Caroline Walker, filmmaker Nicola Black, and The Hepworth Wakefield’s Head of Collection & Exhibitions, Eleanor Clayton.
