Although very different in style and technique, Reclining Figure puts one strongly in mind Le Repos (1937/4). It is interesting to note that the artist only other reclining concrete nude, Reclining Torso is in a sense an evocation of Ripple (1937/3), the counterpoint of Le Repos.
