VisitEngland awards The Hepworth Wakefield Gold visitor attraction accolade

14 Nov 2025

VisitEngland has this week announced the winners of its Visitor Attraction Accolades for 2024-25, recognising excellence within the visitor attraction sector.  Accolades were awarded to 78 English attractions covering all aspects of what makes an outstanding visitor experience - with The Hepworth Wakefield awarded Gold, VisitEngland's highest accolade - for the outstanding visitor experience it offers.

The Hepworth Wakefield was one of only five places in Yorkshire to be recognised and one of only two Yorkshire-based attractions to receive the highest accolade of Gold.

The accolades were awarded based on scores  achieved in every aspect of the visitor welcome during the annual VisitEngland Visitor Attraction Quality Scheme assessment.

Olivia Colling, Interim Director & CEO of The Hepworth Wakefield, said: ‘This is the third time since 2021 that we have been awarded Gold in our VisitEngland assessment, showing the consistently  high visitor experience we strive every day to achieve. I’m so delighted for the whole Hepworth team because this assessment  considers every detail. Winning Gold again underlines the dedication and passion of our incredible team, who work so hard to make everyone welcome and every visit to The Hepworth Wakefield special. We hope this encourages more people to experience and be inspired by The Hepworth Wakefield.’

VisitEngland Director Andrew Stokes said:  ’These accolades put England’s outstanding attractions in the spotlight as they recognise the amazing visitor experiences available across the country. They acknowledge the people who give the warmest welcomes, provide the most mouth-watering food and tell the stories that delight visitors, making them jewels of our tourism offer.’
