Introducing The Hepworth Wakefield Garden Collection: An exclusive glassware range by Emma Britton

11 Jul 2023

We are pleased to announce an exclusive glassware collection by designer Emma Britton, commissioned by The Hepworth Wakefield. The Hepworth Wakefield Garden Collection is inspired by the gallery's garden and includes a glass carafe, flute and tumbler etched with Emma’s original designs.

The glassware pattern by Emma for The Hepworth Wakefield Garden Collection depicts the seed heads and flowers of Echinacea pallida ‘Coneflower’, Salvia nemorosa ‘Amethyst’ and Salvia nemorosa ‘Caradonna’. Emma’s design, in her signature floral style, celebrates the architectural beauty and abundance of these flowers in The Hepworth Wakefield Garden at the height of summer.

The glass designs are developed from a series of Emma’s original paintings of The Hepworth Wakefield Garden. Emma has captured the richness of the garden in her designer glassware, perfect for enjoying with summer soirees, alfresco dining and for entertaining, as well as being ideal for wedding presents and seasonal and occasion gifting throughout the year. Each glass in The Hepworth Wakefield Garden Collection is designed, decorated and hand finished at Emma’s Derbyshire studio.

The Collection is available to buy exclusively from The Hepworth Wakefield’s gallery shop and online.

‘Creating this collection was a real privilege, The Hepworth Wakefield have stocked my own collection for years but the opportunity to create something exclusive and with such rich source material has been a joy. I hope visitors to The Hepworth Wakefield feel they are taking home a little piece of the garden when they purchase the glasses.’ Emma Britton, Designer

‘This glassware beautifully captures some of the most iconic summer-flowering plants in The Hepworth Wakefield Garden, in particular the coneflowers which are so magical and popular with our pollinators too.’ Katy Merrington, Cultural Gardener, The Hepworth Wakefield
