Two-day Portrait Photography Workshop

24 + 31 Mar 2018, 10.30am - 4pm

£110 / £82.50 Members

Leeds-based photographer Jonathan Turner guides you in this two-day photography course.

Across two consecutive Saturdays you will learn to use your own camera to create beautuful portraits and edit them using digital software.

During the first session, Turner will guide you in camera controls, metering, composition technique and shooting with natural light and simple flash.

The second session will explore studio lighting and you will experiment with various different lighting techniques, while learning how best to pose your subject. You will then be guided in post-processing techniques using Adobe software; Mac laptops will be provided.

About the tutor

Jonathan Turner’s photographic work is primarily portrait based and often deals with issues around identity. He has a long history of working with communities, both in the capacity of producing photography, teaching photography skills and facilitating participatory photography projects, including Street Studio, a project supported by East Street Arts, Leeds Inspired and Trinity Leeds Young Talent Fund. He works regularly to commission and on his own personal projects.
