Teacher CPD: Join the Conversation 2, Arts in Education
26 Sep 2018
5-7pm, £6 on the day including a glass of wine
Suitable for all teachers
You are invited to join the conversation hosted by The Hepworth Wakefield and with an invited panel of speakers to discuss Arts in Education. Together we will explore how galleries and museums support schools to deliver the creative curriculum and inspire young people to pursue a career in the creative sectors.
Following on from the success of the first Join the Conversation event in September 2017, this is a call to action for teachers and professionals interested in arts in education to join the debate.
Welcome by Simon Wallis, Director at The Hepworth Wakefield and chaired by Sarah Mumford, Cultural Education Director of IVE.
Panel members include:
- Penny Rowe, Artist delivering in West Yorkshire primary schools
- Jimmy Rotherham, Music teacher at Feversham Primary School (read more about how Jimmy has rebuilt the school’s curriculum around music on the BBC website)
- Mandy Barrett, Art lead at Gomersal Primary School
We will be joined by year 10 art ambassadors from Cathedral Academy to share their experiences of championing arts in education with The Hepworth Wakefield. Students will launch their #ARTSOS Campaign and voice their own opinions on the subject.
Wine and refreshments will be provided.
