Schools & Colleges: Portfolio Development Day, Investigate Sculpture

Suitable for Year 11 - 13 / Level 1 & 2 Art Students
Bring your class to the gallery to study sculpture. Maximum 15 students per school.
Students will learn about Barbara Hepworth’s artwork and the artists shortlisted for The Hepworth Prize for Sculpture. Working in the gallery, students will produce drawings and explore artistic process before investigating a range of materials to make their own sculptures.
Returning to the learning studios, students will respond to a brief to create large scale sculptures in response to the exhibitions.
Materials and refreshments provided.
9.45am: Arrive at the gallery
10 – 11.30am: Learn in the gallery
11.30 – 11.45am: Break
11.45am – 1pm: Practical workshop in the learning studios

Free of charge (Cancellation fees apply*).
Places will be offered on a first come first served basis.
In the event of cancellation, a notification of cancellation should be sent to the Learning Team in writing, either by post or email (firstname.lastname@example.org). If you notify us of the cancellation of your booking less than 14 days before the event (or any part thereof), including failure to turn up on the day, you will incur a charge of £10 per student cancelled.
We reserve the right to cancel any booking in the event of the gallery being unexpectedly closed, e.g. due to extreme weather conditions
