Digital Photography and Processing course
Sat 5, 12 & 19 October 2019, 10.30am - 2pm
In this three day course, photographer Nick Singleton will guide you in using Photoshop to process and enhance your digital photographs, making the most of your camera’s capabilities and better placing where your interests lie. You will take a series of images, then learn how to enhance and edit them digitally to take away and print.
Participants will come away with a better understanding of photography, its purpose and social context as well as ways to improve your own photography. You will develop both technical and theoretical knowledge. The course will include an excursion to a local attraction and participants will gain knowledge in the field.
The workshop will cater for beginner to intermediate ability level, with practical demonstrations and advice allowing participants to express their personal interests and experience levels.
Participants are advised to bring their own camera with an empty memory card. If you do not have your own please let us know and we can supply then.
About the tutor
Nick Singleton is a commercial photographer and filmmaker. Nick works regularly for The Hepworth Wakefield and has carried out various projects for Leeds Council, Playstation, Easy Jet as well as the BBC.
In the past year Nick has been working with young people (16-25 year olds) mentoring and delivering workshops on film and photography at Wakefield College and The Hepworth Wakefield. Nick’s style is primarily documentary however, he also works with studio based photography.
