The Hepworth Café wins The Association for Cultural Enterprises Café of the Month

The Association for Cultural Enterprises has named The Hepworth Café as its Café of the Month for November 2017.

The Hepworth Café, which opened at The Hepworth Wakefield in October 2017, is operated by Chris Ball and Shanshan Zhu of Leeds-based coffee house, House of Koko, BBC Masterchef quarter finalist Chris Hale and his food blogger wife Sophie. The café launched with a new menu and redesigned dining space, creating a welcoming experience for visitors.

The aim of the association is to promote commercial best practice in the cultural and heritage sector by providing training and networking opportunities and facilitating the sharing of information and experience between its members.

Earlier this year, the Association for Cultural Enterprises awarded The Hepworth Wakefield’s shop with ‘best range’ and ‘best overall winner’ at their annual Best Products Awards 2017.

Shanshan Zhu said: ‘It’s an honour to be November’s café of the month. We feel extremely privileged to operate in such a renowned gallery as The Hepworth Wakefield and to win this award in our first month of opening is a remarkable achievement.’
